在做一個建築作品前
我習慣到現場觀察
因為我認為一棟建築的氣氛
是只能到現場才能感受到的東西
去新竹美術館的那天
我沒有查當期的展覽
不希望提早知道內容
而破壞了驚喜
因此
就有了這個作品
"新竹美術館佈展中"
Before doing an building prjoect, I'll go and visit the real one if possible.
However, the day I visited the Hsinchu Art Gallery, it was under exhibition arrangement.
And this is how I got rejected by the gallery.
(HSC=Hsinchu, a city located two counties south of Taipei)

在日治時期為市役所
也當作國民黨黨部和戶政事務所
2007年才做為新竹美術館開放
It was a city hall and being opened as an art gallery in 2007.
為一棟兩層樓的磚造建築
有日本傳統建築屋頂
屋身為西方樣式
是典雅的東洋風格建築
The building is a mix of japanese and western style.
特別下工夫在中央門廊上
半圓拱門上有拱心石
前面金色的牌子寫了黑字的新竹美術館
右邊則有一面介紹建築樣式的牌子
There're some signs introducing this gallery.
前面有Ubike站
Ubike很方便
我從新竹車站騎Ubike過來
Ubike是橘黃色的
Ubike is a public rental bike system.
建築主體是紅磚牆
窗戶是長方形直立窗
作品將所有的窗戶內縮半格
Upright windows.
從背後的這堵牆你們可以輕易感受出
當下我被美術館狂暴拒絕時的感受
裡面的殘障電梯和中央空調都在
不過因為在佈展
不對外開放
所以我把它封起來
我沒看到展
大家也都看不到展
This sealed wall in the back represents my feeling of knowing not being able to get in this gallery that day.
Even if I got in, there're nothing for me to see but boxes and ropes.
Thus, I block the wall so you won't see the mess inside.
Ubike真的很方便
不過新竹市的前半小時免費取消了
我騎了10分鐘
繳了10塊
Ubike is really convenient!
Truly!
佈展用的小貨卡
路上很常見到
車子底下有一顆備胎
The blue truck for exhibits transportation.

看完了展誒不對
我並沒有看到展
騎了Ubike去車站趕回家做作品
花了10分鐘10元
1分鐘1元
每秒鐘0.01666667元
對了
這個作品用了
32x32一片+16x32一片
After visiting the Gallery form the outside, I rode a Ubike back to Hsinchu Train Station.
It took me 10min and 10dollars, which equals to 1 dollar perminutes
cost 0.01666667 dollars per second when I was on on way to station.
And by the way, this project is sized in a 32x32 plate plus one 32x16 plate.
